Monkey Business
Along Mandai Road, opposite Orchidvilla , there this bus stop where monkey will hang around. I observed the monkey while waiting of my bus. FREE of Charge no ticket needed .
There were pass-by vehicles stop slow down the vehicles and threw out plastic bag where contain food inside. The monkeys will then move to the road side to pick it out.
The monkeys in fact did not fade away from me. When I took the picture of them one in fact looking at me and smile at me . Too bad my N80 camera shutter too slow cannot capture the 神眃.

Bangkok 14th May 2007 Day 5 Going Home

Going home….. Having diarrhea since mid night. Do not know what happen. Luckily, was the last day, finding toilet in the airport should not be a problem. Had our breakfast at the airport. Need to mention about the passport control officer . The a sign of no using of handphone but when he was checking my passport , ironically, he was using it .. ha…ha..ha.. boarded the plan home I went. Back To Reality …..

Woke up late as yesterday had a long journey trip. Today will be a shopping day. Left the key at the lobby we took a cab straight to Chatuchak - the Weekend market. The place is such huge that a map is needed . We dash through the market straight and found a place to eat . No English wording what to order . I just point to the seller what I wanted to eat.

4 hour of zig-zag shopping we did not even finished half. We gave up,went back to the hotel to rest
About we had our dinner at Platinam Mall then continued to do some last minutes shopping. I got myself a new cargo pants.

I felt that the Market is a place for the young one to have an opportunity to learn trick of business. As most of the shop was manage by them. It is a place where creative designer are found. Start from décor of the shop to the clothes they designed. Right beside market there the MRT station.

Bangkok 12th May 2007 Day 3

Woke up early about 0600hrs and had the breakfast provided by the hotel then hurrily catch a taxi to Kao San . Our 1 days trip start from Kao San at 0700hr. Wait to rush… rush to wait. Then we had to wait for other. We were given a colour sticker to different which package we sign up .

We then were separated from the group we came together. We were being told to join another coach, few minutes later we change another coach where there were majority was Korean. At least the coach was much more comfortable than before one. After the commotion, we headed to a floating guesthouse for lunch .Simply but tasty lunch. The weather was unbearable I bought a beer to lower my temperature.

The elephant go 1 round and stop at where it started. After I alight the elephant there this teenager shouted for tips, I did not bother much …. Good business mind the resort had taking down the picture while we were riding. The photo was taken by a digital camera . We bought $150 baht for it. We were half way though our 1 day trip. Up the coach we head to a waterfall.

Reach a train station called - Nam Tok. From there it will take about 2 hr ride to the before we end the whole day trip. Together in the cabin were not only the tourist, there were also locals in it. I think it was their company trip. They bought along Thai whisky and happily drink in the cabin. The atmosphere was extremely relaxing.
It was drizzling, I felt sleepy liao. Till the tour guide “OFF” came to ask and want to take $50baht from us. My first thought he was asking tips from us. But instead the $50 baht was for the train ride. We were puzzled, we were told by the staff in Green House that every was excluding the entrance to the war museum. However, not to make thing difficult for him we paid for the ride. He also ask us to go back Green House to ask for refund.
During, the train trip we pass by villages. When there a train station there will be business activities going on ….
We pass a temple which was built on the tip of the hill… from far the temple can be seen beautiful. Ask our guide how the monks and nuns go up there, he said by leg climb up was the only way.
Then we came the exciting part of the ride. The railway was build at the mid of the hill by the POWs. Just imagined, using primitive tools and strength to build it. WAH WAH …… the view was magnificence. Beautiful peacefulness….

Board the mini coach the passengers are like sardines pack into the can so tight ….. There was this ang moh do not understand the law of cool air and hot air . The coach’s air con had work so hard the maintain the temperature within the coach. This ang moh open the window through out till the 1st stop … seating beside him I could feel the hot air enter the coach…
1st stop after a 2hr ride, the Kanchanaburi World War II Cemetery. It was for memorial of those our forefather who fought thur the war. In the Cemetery, 6982 POW graves are laid out in the straight lines amid immaculate lawns and flowering. Our peace we are enjoy now do not come by its own.
Another 1hr we came to the JEATH War Museum (is acronym of six countries Japan/England/Australia/America/Thailand and Holland), where it showcase how the POW ( Prisoner of War) live under the torture during the war . The museum was along the River Kwai.

Went to the river,we got to the bamboo raft. The raft follow the downstream flow the a thai man to control the direction of the raft. The journey was serenity. Could hear the cricket cried , the plant flow as the air breeze, bird crowing…. The water was cool but seem muddy . Along the journey will pass by other floating hotel. The journey came to the end. The raft dock at a long stair ways. My lung was populated by tobacco, after finished climbing up the stair , my breather had quicken. There a bus waiting for us again. We were drove back to the floating hotel for the elephant ride.

guesthouse along the riverElephant ride - thinking of the act of Andy Lau in Protégé . I’m the King. The moment I’m up the heavy weight elephant, I felt totally like a baby. The walking motion sway me for left to right. The seat was not very comfortable. The seat was just rounded by metal it hurt my back , but will not cause any injuries la….. 1st time feel the skin for the elephant . Rough and thick were the 2 best words to describe it. Poor elephant had to carry us and had to be kick by the “jockey” . The jockey will used his leg to kick the heavy elephant, as to control the direction. It will also command the elephant by making sound .orrhhr errrrhh something like that …

gotta shit...Sai yoke Waterfall there you can see people in group picnic …. Family bring small child to play water . Ryan when near the water fall , had a slight fall. Me brought only 1 I cargo pant do not want to take the risk … worry no pant to wear . ha..ha..ha… but mine feet went into the cool water … so refreshing. …

Soon the ride came to an end. We alight the train at Thakilen Station. Back to Bangkok city . Me sleep through the journey.
At about 1900hr, back to Kao San, I changed money again. Had this chicken wrap then we went straight to Green House.
The lady staff still remember me and asked me how was the trip. I answered her fine . Showed her our train ticket and popped the “ refund” . She was confused, she went in and ask her colleague for help. Thing when worst her other colleague had an bad attitude, I did not gave in, ask her to show me the guide that I was begin show previous . She show me a new guide but I wanted the actual that I was shown .
The lady staff came out and apologize to us. Mention that she had just started work. I told her to be careful about the information she provided next time. We can afford the $100 baht, we just what to justified our right. She apologize again . We left for Suan Lam.
Suan Lam – night maket. There a open pub, live band and huge project screen. A lot thing to eat. However, before we found the open space , we settle our dinner at a corner of the area. Suan Lam is also a place for people to shop for clothes.
Then we tiredly head back to our hotel. In the taxi we had an interesting talk with the driver. I asked him about Patpong, was it the same with Suan Lam then he lead to recommend gays pub to us … wrong frequency lah. Ask him to recommend where to find beautiful gals in Bangkok …. We laugh . Reach Platinam Mall, we walk to our hotel. I did not sleep as HBO was telecasting KING KONG . I watch through out , good about HBO was no advertisement . Drank beer, ate chip while watching .
